Retro-techno-wargaming-sci-fi underground cult sleeper hack-coded 'Celemp' game gets major gain by adding web presence.
"Celemp", short for "Celetial Empire", once an email oriented, "turn the crank" ascii generated .txt report - type game, now has a user-friendly Web-world at www.celemp.com.
"I actually cleaned my glasses!" Said Jamus Earwig, who habitually programs his space-telemrity control systems with the lights out, and never drives at night. "As much as I hate GUI's, I finally have a legitimate reason to use microsoft products." ... OK, so this interviewer doesn't get it, but, hey! You should have heard his enthusiasm. There is no turning back for him.
In a nutshell, you get planets and ships, and there are 6 ways to win. Players report spending hours each week, analyzing data, and even writing their own datamining tools to out-geek their opponents. Furthermore, there is a "social" aspect to the game, challenging some hermits on an unfamiliar dimension.
Dr. M. Deerk (Ph.D, Abnormal Psychology) said: "I am aware of the addictive properties of this celemp drug. This new website might just push some neurotics right over to becoming psycotic." Pressing for an english translation, he said: "shcizopreniform manifest, dude! It will split those personalities apart! For good! and one piece will be out in space!".
... no surviving celempians were found in Concordia or Penzance ... there was some conjecture that Kazeeme eats his young, and his victims - that is the only explanation the FBI was willing to avise in this press release.
Lord W denied manipulating the facts that are the basis of this investigation, but the fact remains, his fingerprints are on this website.
Col. K. Laatu, Director of Homeland-out-of-control-sci-fi-freaks, sent in these few words(no return address): "This are no ordeenary paranoia. Give Blood now!" He went on to explain he has a list of "masters" responsible for the new "quagmire you call a web site" (could not be printed in its entrity due to inapropriate and offensive language...)
Celemp did not respond to questioning because I could not find anyone anywhere willing to accept the liability celemp represents.
I did, however figure out how to bypass their sensorship security - and published this story. Clearly Anarchy is in control - celemp is up for grabs
